As The Sunrise Appeal celebrates 25 years of providing vital cancer care in Cornwall, we’re proud to share inspiring stories from our community, all collected at our celebration event at The Alverton earlier this year.
One such story is that of Ali Catt, a local musician and dedicated fundraiser. Ali leads the Wicked Lollipops, a five-piece charity band that raises money for The Sunrise Appeal through every performance. Their mission is driven by a strong belief in the importance of keeping cancer treatment local, as well as remembering a dear friend.
“Three years ago, we lost a lovely member of our band, David Hudson,” Ali shared. “He was treated so well at the Sunrise Centre, and he was always in great favor of it”
Ali’s connection to the cause is also personal. Having faced cancer herself, she understands just how important it is to receive treatment close to home.
For 25 years, the Sunrise Appeal has helped fund advanced cancer services and equipment at the Sunrise Centre at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. With the help of passionate fundraisers like Ali and the Wicked Lollipops, we can continue to support cutting-edge cancer treatment.
