Recently Sam got in touch with us as she had again been fundraising for The Sunrise Appeal. You may remember that she previously shaved her hair to raise money for us.
In her own words here is her story:
It is just about two years to the day that I was diagnosed with breast cancer. An aggressive type that needed intensive chemotherapy treatments followed by surgery. I was very poorly and as a single mum of a then one year old it turned my life upside down. I can only hope I am cancer free now. I will be forever grateful to the beast cancer care team at RCHT. About two years ago my friends and I raised just short of £10,000 for The Sunrise Appeal. I enjoyed that so much I wanted to do more and I will continue to do more fundraising. This time I asked Liza Marie-Paget and Rebecca Hogarth if they would love to be involved as their sister and friend Tamara has just been diagnosed. Also their nanny Gwen had been under the care of The Sunrise not long ago. They were very keen to help and I’m so pleased I asked.
Thanks to Sam and her friends their fundraising for the Party Night is now £13,000 and with her head shaving challenge over £23,000 has been raised.
The team here at Sunrise are extremely grateful to you all.
THANK YOU
